perspective

A shovel in a poem is a metaphor;
in a backyard, it’s a tool for moving dirt and snow.
A square piece of glass is a picture frame
or a window to the outside world.
Water in a glass is nourishment.
Water in a tsunami is a catastrophe.
Perspective is the architect of our experience. It shapes how we see the world and what we make of it.
My daughter likes to eat pancakes when they’re cut into triangles or crescent moons. It’s still a pancake, but something about the shape makes it more appealing.
Rereading a book tends to unveil hidden layers and insights I may have missed the first time around. Being in a new chapter of my life gives me a different perspective, offering fertile ground for discovery.
Sometimes, rounding a corner is all it takes to completely change how an experience lands on our system.
