Meditation

My Path

I first heard of meditation in winter 2012, from a fellow snowboard instructor on Mammoth Mountain, CA. I began watering that seed the following year and have been practicing ever since. My formal instruction began with Tibetan Buddhism (as carried to the West by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche) and gradually shifted toward Theravāda. I continue to learn from and integrate aspects of both lineages, while also keeping the door open to teachings, methods, and modalities from people of all walks of life.

In 2024, I completed Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach’s two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program to embrace the gift of reciprocity and step on the teaching path.

The central thesis of my approach to meditation practice is that life isn’t lived on a cushion — it’s lived in our daily rhythms, responsibilities, communities; in long walks with a friend, dirty diapers, and endless piles of dishes in the sink. It’s easy to forget that those dishes mean so much more than a daily task; they represent a roof over my head, a nourishing meal, and good company to share it with.

By bringing mindfulness to every aspect of our lives, we open ourselves to the depth, richness, vitality, and wonder of being human.

Mentorship

2 years after my teacher training with Jack and Tara, I completed their Mindfulness Mentor Training program. I’m excited to be able to offer a more relationship-based approach to meditation.

Mentorship creates a space for ongoing inquiry where we get to know each other over time. Over time, you will learn what works for you, what doesn’t, and how to make your practice stick.

As a mentor, I see myself as a trusted companion on your path. I’m here to support you on your journey and help you adapt your meditation practice to fit your lifestyle / needs / desires.

Whether you want to try meditation for the first time, establish a consistent practice, deepen your existing practice, or work through specific challenges related to posture, schedule, emotions, pain, etc., I’d be honored to support you.
